GeoBrakes

Warranty Policy

Last updated: April 2026

GeoBrakes stands behind every brake part we sell to customers in the United States. All products sold through geobrakes.com are covered by a 1-year manufacturer warranty against defects in materials and workmanship under normal driving conditions. This policy explains exactly what is covered, what is not covered, how to submit a warranty claim, and what you can expect from us when a genuine defect is confirmed.

Please read this policy carefully before installing any brake parts purchased from GeoBrakes. Installing a part confirms your acceptance of the conditions described in this policy. This warranty is provided in addition to any rights you may have under applicable US federal and state consumer protection law.

1. Warranty Coverage

GeoBrakes provides a 1-year manufacturer warranty on all brake parts sold through geobrakes.com. This warranty covers defects in materials and workmanship that are present at the time of manufacture and that cause the part to fail under normal driving conditions within 12 months of the confirmed delivery date.

Defects covered under this warranty include:

Structural defects in brake rotors including casting voids, premature cracking not caused by overheating or misuse, and dimensional inaccuracies that cause vibration or pulsation under normal highway and city driving conditions.

Material defects in brake pads including premature delamination of the friction material from the backing plate, abnormal glazing or hardening not caused by overheating, and compound inconsistencies that cause abnormal brake noise under normal driving conditions.

Defects in brake calipers including internal seal failures, piston binding or sticking not caused by corrosion from road exposure, and bracket dimensional errors that prevent proper installation on a factory-specification vehicle.

Defects in brake drums and brake shoes including casting defects, premature cracking, and friction material delamination not caused by misuse or overheating.

Defects in wheel bearings and ABS wheel speed sensors including premature bearing failure not caused by improper installation and sensor faults not caused by electrical damage or physical impact.

2. Warranty Duration

The warranty period is 12 months from the confirmed delivery date of your order as determined by the tracking confirmation provided by our shipping carrier. Warranty claims submitted after 12 months from the confirmed delivery date will not be accepted under any circumstances. The warranty period begins on the confirmed delivery date regardless of when the part is installed.

3. What Is Not Covered

The following circumstances are explicitly excluded from warranty coverage. GeoBrakes will not accept warranty claims for defects or failures caused by or resulting from any of the following.

3.1 Normal Wear and Tear

Brake parts are consumable components designed to wear over time under normal use. The following are considered normal wear and are not manufacturing defects:

Gradual reduction in brake pad thickness from normal braking use.
Surface rust or oxidation on rotor friction surfaces from normal exposure to moisture, rain, humidity, and road conditions. A thin layer of surface rust that clears after a few brake applications is a normal characteristic of iron rotors and is not a defect. This is especially common in high-humidity states such as Florida, Louisiana, and coastal regions.
Brake dust accumulation on wheels and brake components.
Brake noise or slight vibration during the first 500 miles of use while new pads and rotors complete the bedding-in process.
Rotor thickness reduction from normal braking use within manufacturer minimum thickness specifications.
Minor variations in rotor surface finish that do not affect braking performance.

3.2 Improper Installation

Warranty coverage is void if a part fails as a result of improper installation including but not limited to:

Failure to properly torque caliper bolts, rotor hat bolts, or wheel lug nuts to the vehicle manufacturer's torque specifications.
Installation without performing the proper bedding-in procedure for new pads and rotors as specified by the manufacturer.
Contamination of brake pad friction surfaces with oil, grease, brake fluid, or chemical cleaning agents during or after installation.
Installation on a vehicle with seized caliper pistons, worn caliper slide pins, or damaged caliper hardware that was not replaced at the time of brake service.
Installation on a vehicle where the brake hydraulic system including brake lines, master cylinder, and brake fluid condition has not been inspected and confirmed to be in good working order.
Failure to replace brake hardware kits including caliper slide pins, boots, clips, and anti-rattle shims at the time of brake service where recommended by the vehicle manufacturer.
Reuse of worn, damaged, or corroded brake hardware components alongside new GeoBrakes parts.
Cross-threading or over-torquing of any brake fasteners during installation.

GeoBrakes strongly recommends that all brake parts be installed by a qualified and licensed automotive technician in your state. If you choose to install brake parts yourself, you assume full responsibility for ensuring the installation is performed correctly and in accordance with the vehicle manufacturer's service manual specifications.

3.3 Overheating and Thermal Damage

Warranty coverage does not extend to damage caused by excessive heat generation including but not limited to:

Rotor warping, cracking, heat checking, or blue heat discoloration caused by sustained high-speed braking, aggressive mountain driving without proper engine braking technique, towing beyond the vehicle's rated capacity, or repeated emergency stops in quick succession.
Brake pad glazing, burning, hardening, or complete friction material loss caused by excessive heat from the above conditions.
Caliper seal failure or caliper piston damage caused by overheated brake fluid transferring excessive heat to caliper internals beyond their designed operating temperature range.
Any thermal damage identifiable by visual inspection including but not limited to discoloration, warping, or cracking.

3.4 Racing and Track Use

This warranty does not cover any parts used in racing, competitive driving events, track days, high-performance driving events, autocross, drag racing, road rallies, or any other motorsport or performance driving activity regardless of the nature or speed of the event. Brake parts sold by GeoBrakes are designed, rated, and warranted for normal on-road use only. Use of our parts in any motorsport application voids this warranty immediately and entirely.

3.5 Modified Vehicles

Warranty coverage does not apply to parts installed on vehicles that have been modified in any way that affects brake system performance, thermal management, or component compatibility including but not limited to:

Suspension lift kits or lowering kits that alter wheel geometry, suspension travel, or brake component mounting angles.
Aftermarket wheel and tire packages that deviate from factory specifications in diameter, width, offset, or load rating.
Performance engine modifications that significantly increase vehicle power output and weight transfer under braking.
Any towing, payload, or load modifications that exceed the vehicle's factory-rated braking and gross vehicle weight capacity.
Any modification to the brake hydraulic system including aftermarket brake lines, upgraded master cylinders, proportioning valve changes, or brake bias adjustments.
Any modification that requires non-standard brake components or affects the factory brake system design.

3.6 Physical Damage

Warranty coverage does not apply to damage caused by physical impact or external events including but not limited to road debris strikes, pothole impacts, curb strikes, vehicle collision damage, flood damage, hail damage, fire damage, or damage caused during storage, handling, or shipping after delivery to the customer.

3.7 Corrosion

Surface rust on brake rotors is a normal and expected characteristic of cast iron brake rotors across all US climates particularly in high-humidity regions and states that use road salt during winter months including Michigan, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Minnesota, Wisconsin, and New England states. Surface rust is not a manufacturing defect and is not covered under this warranty.

Deep corrosion of rotor friction surfaces, corrosion-caused pitting on caliper brackets, or corrosion of slide pins caused by exposure to road salt, moisture, chemical de-icers, or other environmental agents is considered environmental wear and is not covered. GeoBrakes recommends coated antirust rotors for customers in northern states and coastal regions to minimize corrosion-related wear over the life of the part.

3.8 Incorrect Parts Installed

Warranty coverage does not apply where a customer installs a part on a vehicle for which it was not specified, including situations where the customer entered incorrect vehicle year, make, model, trim, or configuration at the time of purchase and the part installed is not the correct specification for the actual vehicle. Customers are responsible for verifying fitment using our vehicle selector tool before completing any purchase.

3.9 Parts Purchased From Third Parties

This warranty applies only to parts purchased directly through geobrakes.com. GeoBrakes does not provide warranty coverage for brake parts purchased through Amazon, eBay, other online marketplaces, or any unauthorized reseller or distributor. Proof of purchase from geobrakes.com is required for all warranty claims.

3.10 Labor and Consequential Costs

This warranty does not cover any labor costs associated with the diagnosis, removal, or reinstallation of brake parts including but not limited to mechanic fees, shop labor charges, diagnostic fees, vehicle inspection costs, rental vehicle costs, towing charges, or any other costs incurred as a result of a part failure or warranty claim. GeoBrakes's warranty obligation is limited exclusively to the replacement or refund of the defective part itself.

4. How to Submit a Warranty Claim

If you believe a brake part you purchased from GeoBrakes has developed a manufacturing defect covered under this warranty, follow these steps carefully.

Step 1: Contact our team within the 12-month warranty period.

Email sales@geobrakes.com or call +1 (416) 855-1496 during business hours, Monday to Friday 9AM to 6PM EST and Saturday 9AM to 4PM EST. Do not ship the part back before contacting us and receiving authorization. Parts returned without prior written authorization will be refused at our warehouse and returned to you at your expense.

Step 2: Provide the following information with your claim.

Your original order number from geobrakes.com.
The specific part name and SKU number if available.
The date the part was installed on your vehicle.
The current mileage on your vehicle at the time of the claim.
The mileage at the time the part was installed if known.
A clear written description of the defect or failure you have experienced including when it first appeared and under what driving conditions.
Clear photographs showing the defect in detail including close-up photos of the specific area of concern and wide-angle photos showing the part in its installed position on the vehicle.
A photo of the vehicle's brake assembly showing the installed part in context.
Proof of purchase from geobrakes.com — your order confirmation email is sufficient.
Proof of professional installation if applicable — a receipt or invoice from the licensed mechanic or shop that installed the part.

Step 3: GeoBrakes will assess your claim.

Our team will review your claim and all supporting documentation within 3 to 5 business days of receiving a complete submission. We may request additional photographs, a short video demonstrating the defect, or other documentation to support our assessment. In cases where the nature of the defect cannot be confirmed from photographs alone, GeoBrakes reserves the right to request that the part be returned to our Canadian warehouse for physical inspection before a final warranty decision is issued. If a return for inspection is required, GeoBrakes will provide a prepaid return shipping label.

Step 4: Resolution.

If your warranty claim is approved, GeoBrakes will at our sole discretion either:

Ship a replacement part of equal or equivalent specification to your US address at no charge with all applicable duties and taxes included on a DDP basis, or

Issue a refund of the original product purchase price of the defective part to your original payment method.

GeoBrakes does not cover labor costs, vehicle inspection fees, rental vehicle costs, towing charges, or any other consequential or incidental costs associated with the warranty claim process. Our warranty obligation is limited exclusively to the replacement or refund of the defective part.

Resolution on warranty claims requiring physical inspection may take additional time due to cross-border shipping and inspection requirements. GeoBrakes will keep you informed of progress throughout the process.

5. Warranty Claims Versus Returns

It is important to understand the distinction between a warranty claim and a return.

A return applies to brake parts that have not been installed and are being sent back within the 30-day return window in accordance with our Return and Exchange Policy.

A warranty claim applies to brake parts that have been installed on a vehicle and develop a confirmed manufacturing defect after installation within the 12-month warranty period.

Once a brake part has been installed on a vehicle it is no longer eligible for a standard return under our Return and Exchange Policy under any circumstances. An installed part that develops a defect must be handled exclusively through this Warranty Policy. Do not attempt to return an installed part as a standard return — contact us to initiate a warranty claim instead.

6. Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act

This warranty is provided in compliance with the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act, which is the US federal law governing written warranties on consumer products. Under the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act, this warranty is classified as a limited written warranty. This means the warranty covers specific defects as described in this policy and is subject to the exclusions listed in Section 3. This warranty does not cover all possible defects or failures and does not guarantee that the product will meet your specific performance expectations beyond its described automotive application.

Nothing in this warranty limits or excludes any rights you may have under the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act or any other applicable US federal or state consumer protection law that cannot be waived by contract.

7. Consumer Rights Under US State Law

Depending on the state in which you reside, you may have additional warranty rights beyond those described in this policy under applicable state consumer protection law. Some states do not allow limitations on how long an implied warranty lasts or the exclusion of incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitations may not apply to you in full depending on your state of residence. This warranty gives you specific legal rights and you may also have other rights that vary from state to state.

California residents: if you are a California resident and believe a product you purchased from GeoBrakes is defective, you may have additional rights under California consumer protection statutes including the California Song-Beverly Consumer Warranty Act. Nothing in this policy is intended to limit those rights.
